Presentation prep

Prepping for the presentation Since the pitch needs 500 words altogether, I decided to write something for each of the pages. We have 6 pages to fill, which averages 83 words per page. Everything written in brackets is what is on the slides currently, could be ideas for what to write.  These are just the original idea for the presentation made by Luke; however, we will probably change the whole PowerPoint. Glen also has to add extra slides for the 3D designing. Pitch overview (122 words) (The central debate and what we came up with to create a solution) Our topic that we were given was the effects of technology in education. With this topic we thought of ways that we could incorporate the topic into our actual lives as we are currently in education, so this is aimed towards us directly.  We had the idea of since our course is moving rooms and campus, we thought that it would be a good idea to design how that room could become the ‘perfect’ classroo...

Making the course book

Image
Me and Sophie began to make the course booklet by designing it together on Tuesday the 30 th of April. We designed the basic layout of the booklet and chose some design aspects we wanted to include. Then I took the file and added the images and text into the pages, I used the quotes from the video we found, and the bulk of the text was from what Luke sent me. I used images from pieces of work that we did as they were the only ones available to me.  Sophie then sent me an updated layout, so I merged our two bits of work together to make the final layout. I then wrote some text about the new workspace, including a quote from me about it, so that we would have some writing that is relevant to the pages included on them. I then also found some text from the Salford website on how to apply for the course, I adapted this and used it for the page.

Writing for the course book

Workplace pages: We recently had a renovation of our workroom, to create the perfect environment for working and learning. We are striving to create a home away from home for our students and make them feel as comfortable as possible. Our workspace is specially laid out and to encourage group collaboration, as this is an important aspect of the course.  We worked very hard to design a room that would be an open, eco-friendly room that makes the students want to do work.  Our room offers specialised tables for group projects, access to iMac’s and Wacom tablets, as well as a soft area full of bean bags and couches to allow the students to have more relaxed work areas. We also allow access to other technological advancements that are useful for any future careers in media, such as VR, AR, etc.  Scan this QR code to do a 3D room tour of our new workspace. Meeting 30/04/2019

Today we all met up and decided upon some stuff for our products. Me and Sophie worked on the course book, we chose to add dashes as we noticed that they were used on lots of the walls around the university building, so it would tie into the style of uni. We also worked on the layout and how it transferred from paper to XD, as well as adding hints of yellow into the pages. For instance, we tried to put the yellow behind the dashes on the first page, as well as the text, basically we just played around and chose which one we liked best. While me and Sophie worked on the course book, Glen and Luke worked on the layout of the room. They chose this:  We then decided on how we were going to do the presentation. We chose to start it by doing a timeline style thing, where we each spoke about the journey through University, from choosing it from college, to people’s experiences while there, to the changing in learning, and finally the changing in environment. We would then go ...
