General ideas for the room

Cupboards

I absolutely hate the chipboard style cupboards that are currently in the area. So, I would want them to be changed. To incorporate tech into these, I had the idea that we could the doors for them be screens that shows a digital image of what is inside them. A drawback of this is if they are really messy, then it wouldn’t look good. However, I think this would be a good thing, as it would give people an incentive to keep them clean. 

Screens

Another idea that we thought of was that we wanted to include screens in the room. These would be sort of like the interactive white boards that you have in schools, but they would be retractable and go into the ceiling. This would keep the room still open plan, and for it to not get over crowded by technology when it’s not in use. 

VR area

For this area we would want it to be similar to what Kevin has in the makerspace, but instead of it being just tape there would be a different coloured floor panel. However, unlike the makerspace we wouldn’t have a permanent table in this area, we would keep it empty and for where the foldable furniture will go. 

Flooring

The flooring that they currently have in this area is carpeting, I personally think it would be better to have wooden. This is because it is easier to clean than carpeting and if we were prototyping if we spilled paint or something on the floor it wouldn’t be as bad as if it were carpet. 

Windows

For the windows we thought about them being those ones that you can change the view, etc. These would be useful because personally I find it easier to work when the room is bright and it looks nice outside.
