Table ideas for the room

Tables

I found lots of table types/styles that I liked, such as circular, hexagonal, or U shaped, as they allowed lots of people to sit together and encourages them to converse and collaborate.

However, we found out that this space would also need to house 50 Chinese students, as well as 60 (From each year) and these types of tables take up a lot of the space.

So, I had the idea of having some circular tables that are going to be permanent fixtures in the room, then some singular desks that can change height, so they can be standing desks, that are also permanent fixtures, and some tables and chairs that fold down so they can be stacked in a corner out of the way. These foldable tables would be the ones with a screen on them, sort of like a giant Wacom tablet, this would be instead of a desktop computer, which allows the desk to be usable for other things, while also having a computer of sorts so they can take notes if they did not bring their own laptop.

I also had the idea that on the circular tables they would have a compartment underneath that holds some of the university laptops, and you can access these through your key card like the ones in the library’s. Having this would mean you don’t have to bring your own laptop, which can be a safety concert and annoying due to the weight and having to carry it around all day. Also, it would mean you don’t have to go to the library to take them out, and they would be easy to get access to.

Having tables that can transform into stand up ones will be good and useful, as it allows the students to adjust the desks to their height, and some people work best when standing up.

I also had the idea of instead of having permanent circular tables, instead there would be singular tables all in different shapes that can be put together to make a hexagon table. This way the students would be able to decide if they want to work together or not.
